Charitable Organizations and Partners Chosen for 2017:

1. Through the Vancouver Sun’s Adopt-A-School program, in 2014, Beedie adopted Douglas Road Elementary School located in Burnaby and raised over $120,000 to help fund a new Breakfast Program for a minimum of 5 years. Beedie continues to maintain this partnership and aims to support the school as well as the Adopt-A-School program in any way we can.

2. The CKNW Orphans’ Fund is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children living with physical, mental, social and behavioral challenges living in BC communities. On December 2nd, Beedie staff will be joining in the Christmas spirit by volunteering at this year’s CKNW Orphans’ Fund Pledge Day answering Pledge phone calls across British Columbia.

3. For over 30 years, Ronald McDonald House BC (“RMH”) has been providing accommodation for seriously ill children and their families when they must travel to Vancouver for their child’s major treatment. This year, over 50 Beedie employees will be rolling up their sleeves to create a Disney’s “Frozen” themed holiday feast for the families staying at RMH.

4. The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Vancouver (“BCG”) provides a wide range or social, health, educational and recreational services to assist young people in their growth and development. Beedie Development Group is honoured to become a Champion of BCG pledging $50,000 per year over the next 5 years for a total of $250,000 in support of the Kimount Boys and Girls Club located on East 6th Avenue in Vancouver.

5. Quest Food Exchange is British Columbia’s largest not-for-profit food exchange program. Quest redirects food from every branch of the local food industry that might otherwise go to waste. Food is then sorted, processed and distributed to organizations and people who need it most. Beedie staff give back by repackage food items for Quest's not-for-profit grocery markets. Not only is this a great way to give back, it is a fresh and fun activity that fosters employee engagement and team building.

6. Burnaby Neighborhood House (“BNH”) is a volunteer driven community based social service agency that provides programs and services in response to identified community needs. Beedie|Cares recently donated $10,000 towards BNH’s Seniors Lunch Program and our employees are excited to provide lunchtime assistance when needed. BNH also operates the After School Program at Douglas Road Elementary. We look forward to expanding our partnership with both BNH and Douglas Road by providing volunteer support during their After School Program.
