The Keith and Betty Beedie Foundation

The Keith & Betty Beedie Foundation contributes to organizations supporting health, education and safety-based projects both locally and around the world.

Since its inception, the Foundation has given more than $25 million to various organizations – most recently $22 million to the Simon Fraser University School of Business, Ryan Beedie’s alma mater. Now named The Beedie School of Business, the donation will be used to establish an endowment to support students, professorships and research chairs.

The Beedie Foundation was also central in obtaining financing for the MRI unit installed at Burnaby General Hospital. It initiated a campaign to raise the $2.7 million needed for the actual cost of the MRI unit by establishing a matching fund to contribute up to half the cost of the machine. The success of the campaign resulted in the MRI unit beginning operation in March 2009.
